Oracle NetSuite Sync Error: Value for location/department/class was either blank or invalid

Error

Value for location was either blank or invalid

Explanation

This error occurs when "Make Locations (or Departments or Classes) Mandatory" is enabled in  Oracle NetSuite, meaning all records and transactions cannot save without the location (or Department or Class) field.

Solution

Currently, Bill.com does not allow for these classifications on payments or funds transfers. This setting needs to disabled in Oracle NetSuite for those to sync. In Oracle NetSuite, go to:

Customization > Forms > Transaction Forms, locate the form for the erroring transaction type and ensure that location/department/class is not a required field

OR

Set up > Accounting > Accounting Preferences > uncheck "Make Locations (or Departments or Classes) Mandatory" settings.

Please note: This setting under Account Preferences will disable it for ALL records & transactions in Oracle NetSuite; it can be disabled and re-enabled as needed, to allow transactions to sync.

If this setting cannot be disabled, manually enter the transaction in Oracle NetSuite, then click Fix or Resolve on the sync error in Bill.com, select "I've updated this sentpay in Oracle NetSuite; remove this error and sync future updates." and Confirm/Next to clear the error.
