The name "<list item name>" of the list element is already in use

Explanation

This error occurs when an account, item, location, class, or project/job is created in Bill.com, but already exists in QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

Solution 

  1. Check to see if there are duplicate list items in Bill.com. If so, merge, keeping the integration ID of the list item from QBO.
  2. If there are no duplicate list items in Bill.com, confirm if the list item already exists in QBO. If so, edit the list item in QBO, add a * to the description field, save, and sync. This will update the list item and link to the one created in Bill.com.
  3. If the list item does not exist in QBO, check inactive list items. If inactive or not found, either reactivate and sync OR edit the name in Bill.com to be something unique and sync.
