Invalid account type used Invalid account type: You cannot use this account to create items as the account is used by system to track the tax amount.

 

Explanation

This error occurs when a Sales Tax type item created in Bill.com is trying to sync to QuickBooks Online (QBO), but Sales Tax must be created in QBO and synced to Bill.com


Solution

Delete the Sales Tax item in Bill.com and create the Sales Tax in QBO directly, then sync. The Sales Tax will sync to Bill.com as an item, which can then be used on invoices.
