Bill.com allows contacts to be added to a customer record to send invoices and notifications to multiple emails, and grant access to the customer portal.
To add a new contact
- Under the Receivables tab, select Customers
- Search and select the customer you wish to add a contact to
- Hover over Customer Details and select Contacts
- Click the New Contact button
- Fill out the required fields and password options
- Generate the temporary password automatically (check box)
- Uncheck the box if you'd like to create a password for the contact
- Click Save
To update a contact
- Under the Receivables tab, select Customers
- Select the customer you wish to edit
- Hover over Customer Details and select Contacts
- Click on the name of the contact you'd like to update
- Click on the Edit icon
- Update any customer contact details
- Click Save
To delete a contact
- Under the Receivables tab, select Customers
- Select the customer you wish to delete a contact from
- Hover over Customer Details and select Contacts
- Click on the name of the contact you'd like to remove
- Click on the trash can icon
To undelete a contact
- Under the Receivables tab, select Customers
- Select the customer you wish to undelete a contact for
- Hover over Customer Details and select Contacts
- Check the box for Show Inactive Contacts
- Click on the name of the contact you'd like to undelete
- Click on the open trash can icon
To reset a contact's password for the customer portal
- Under the Receivables tab, select Customers
- Select the customer that bears the contact who needs a reset
- Hover over Customer Details and select Contacts
- Click on the name of the contact you'd like to reset
- Click on the key icon, at the top-right of the contact's details
- Keep the Generate Automatically box checked to have Bill.com choose a random Password, or un-check it to manually assign a password
- Click the blue Change button to issue the password via email to the contact
Things to know
If a contact has the same email address added to multiple customer records, updates to the contact will update all records associated with that email.
