Pay bills using PayPal

Use PayPal to pay bills for vendors who use PayPal to receive payments. uses PayPal Business Payments, which only supports making payments to vendors in the US, Canada, UK, India, China and Australia.

PayPal Setup

If you do not have a PayPal account:

  1. Hover over the gear icon, and click Settings
  2. Under Your Company, click "PayPal Accounts"
  3. Click "Set up PayPal"

If you already have a PayPal account:

  1. Hover over the gear icon, and click Settings
  2. Under Your Company, click PayPal Accounts
  3. Click your email address listed in the PayPal Email column
  4. Click "Pre-approve Account" 

Once redirected to the PayPal site, follow the prompts to grant explicit permission for to access information from the PayPal account, including:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Account balance
  1. User will be directed to the "Pre-approve PayPal Account for Bill Payments" page on the site. Click Start Approval
  2. Log in to PayPal again
  3. User will see the "Approve my Pre-approved Payment Plan" page. Review the information that displays to make sure it's accurate, then click Approve
  4. Click Return to return to

Before payments can be made to vendors via PayPal, vendors must be set up in to accept those payments.

  1. Click the Payables tab > Vendors
  2. Click Set Up PayPal Vendors
  3. When the Set Up PayPal Vendors screen displays, click the Vendors down arrow.  Click the vendor and click Go. The Vendor details screen displays
  4. In the PayPal Email line, click Enter to display the Set up Vendor for PayPal Payments screen
  5. In the PayPal Email box, type in the vendor's e-mail address and click Save

This completes the vendor setup process. Go to the Pay Bills page to pay this vendor (a "Pay with PayPal" icon displays on the row of any of this vendor's unpaid bills).

Things to know about international payments

  • For PayPal Business payments made outside of, there are additional fees of up to $5 to make payments to non-US countries. This fee is waived when making PayPal Business payments through
  • PayPal Business Payments to China are in US Dollars and must be a minimum of $2000.00
  • All PayPal payments made using are 99¢ per transaction, regardless of payment amount


  1. Can PayPal payments be setup for a vendor I have connected to via the Network with their Payment Network ID (PNI)?
    • No, you can have either the Network Connection for ePayments or the PayPal payment setup in place but not both
  2. When will payment arrive to the vendor?
    • Instantly, if the company's PayPal balance covers the payment amount 
    • Up to 5 business days if the company's PayPal balance does not cover the payment amount
  3. Can payments be combined?
    • No, does not support combined payments via PayPal
  4. Can more than one PayPal payment be made at one time?
    • No, only one PayPal payment can be made at a time
  5. Will PayPal information be included in the Vendor Export report?
    • PayPal information is not included on the Vendor Export report
  6. Does the vendor have to do anything extra to receive the payment on their end?
    • No, payment will go to the vendor's PayPal account without any additional steps. The vendor will receive an email notification of the payment details: Amount, transaction ID, sender information and an estimate of when payment is expected to be received
